My Cup of Tea

To say that animals don’t have feelings is such a false accusation. 

I left home this weekend to go on an overnight retreat in Orlando. I left Thursday afternoon since I wanted a day to spend with friends and relax since the retreat would take up all of Friday and half of Saturday and I would most likely be leaving on Sunday (which I did). At home, I left my cat, Ryu, in the care of my parents with their suggestion even though I wanted to take him with me. 

I got back today and Ryu was so upset with me. I got at the door and all he did was stare, like “Is this really her?”. After I settled my things in my room I went back to pet him and such but all he did was run away from me. If I took a step closer to him, he would take three away from me. Finally, I somehow managed to grab a hold of him and carried him like I always do. He really didn’t like it and tried to escape. Basically, for the next 20 minutes he kept his distance from me. I got him to warm up to me by, practically, locking him in my room with me.

Apparently, while I was away, Ryu cried everyday. He missed me and was upset that I left him. But all is well because he still loves me and I love him very much!
